IT & Operations Assistant Apprentice


We are recruiting for an IT and Operations Assistant Apprentice to join the team at Print Stitch or Dye in Blackhall! If you enjoy tinkering with IT, enjoy solving problems and have an eye for detail then this role is perfect for you. You’ll gain experience in including print, design and production all while gaining a wage and a qualification! This role also offers quick career progression if the candidate applies himself/herself in the role.

General Duties are to Include:

  • Working alongside the Operations Manager on a daily basis, processing orders received from the Customer Service Team, getting them ready for the Production Team.
  • Working on complex excel sheets detailing product code, garment sizes and order quantities
  • Operating various printing equipment, embroidery machines and heat presses.
  • Prepare print files/design print files for customer orders.
  • Mainly office based but will need to be flexible to work in production/despatch when required in busy periods
Qualifications Required
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at a minimum of grade C
Essential Skills
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at a minimum of grade C.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Desired Skills

To be successful in this role you:

 

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at a minimum of grade C
  • Must have knowledge/experience of Excel (the role is Excel heavy) 
  • Have a basic understanding of the wider Microsoft packages
  • Experience of using cloud based solutions
  • Basic coding knowledge or someone who is eager to learn this – SEO knowledge would be a huge advantage 
  • Strong maths skills and any design skills would be an advantage

  • Can do attitude, for example - Someone who wouldn't shy away from changing ink on printers and troubleshooting any basic IT problems

Progression to Production Supervisor and then Production Manager

  • Due to factory location they must be local with access to transport or be able to drive.
  • Someone who has been tinkering in IT for years and not someone starting from scratch, (this can be as a hobby or interest rather than in a professional environment).

Employer Vacancy Map Level 3 IT Software, Web and Telecoms Advanced Apprenticeship

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
