To work towards providing administrative and general support to the Practice Principal and other members of staff, as requested, by way of the following work areas:
Maintaining our client database
Maintaining filing systems and records
Inputting records of incoming and outgoing post, emails and telephone calls
Processing documents using Microsoft Word
Issuing invoices and quotations, and maintaining a record of these
Preparing outgoing post and, where required, depositing this with the Post Office
Maintaining stationery stock levels
Answering incoming telephone calls
Making outgoing calls to clients and third parties such as local authorities
Arranging appointments and maintaining our office diary
Advising staff members of forthcoming appointments
Welcoming visitors and escorting them to our office
Dealing with all visitors’ requests
Offering and preparing beverages for visitors to the Practice
Offering and preparing beverages for staff members
Washing and clearing away all cups/glasses/plates at the end of each day
Maintaining the office in a clean and tidy manner
Responding to any reasonable request from the Practice Principal or other staff members, in connection with the business of the Practice.
Familiar with the use of the Microsoft suite, including Microsoft Excel
Confident telephone manner
Good written communication skills
Able to work well both independently and as part of a team
Outstanding time management skills
Willingness to learn. At least five GCSE’s (or equivalent) at A*-C grade (or grades 5-9), including English and Mathematics.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
