This Advanced Property Apprenticeship is ideal for those wanting to work in the property sector as a Letting Agent. It will be particularly appropriate to those candidates who undertake, or wish to develop the skills and knowledge to undertake, activities such as progressing applications to rent property, negotiating tenancies, preparing inventories for properties to let, facilitating the maintenance of managed properties and working on tenancy agreements.

The Qualification Gained

Level 3 Diploma in Property (Residential Letting and Management) This Advanced Apprenticeship includes the opportunity to work towards the Propertymark Qualifications Level 3 Award in Residential Letting and Property Management.

Who The Apprenticeship Is For

This qualification is aimed at staff working in lettings negotiation, property management, marketing or junior management in a residential lettings environment and has been designed in consultation with representatives from the industry.

Its also ideal for those who have completed a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Property, Customer Service or Business Administration but wish to work in the Property sector in a senior Lettings and Management based role.

What Will You Learn

Apprenticeship Content

Duties will include the following: advising landlords and tenants on the rental process and legal obligations; determining rental valuations of properties; advertising and marketing; conducting viewings of properties and preparing lettings documentation.

Employee right and responsibilities (ERR) will be delivered through an ERR unit which will ensure that the Apprentice knows and understands each of the nine national outcomes for ERR.

Learning Methods

You will be assigned a qualified Training Advisor, where learning will be undertaken by a mixture of 1 to 1 sessions, on/off the job learning, and mentor support.

Assessment Methods

The course will be assessed via a range of methods which could include direct observations in the workplace, electronic portfolios, guided discussions and on-screen testing.

Progression Opportunities

Those who successfully complete Level 3 can progress to a Level 4 Propertymark Qualifications qualification in Residential Lettings and Property Management. These is also the option to progress to HND and Foundation degrees in Property.

On completion of this framework apprentices can apply to be associated members of the Royal Institute of Surveyors (RICS) and Propertymark Qualified.

Career Opportunities

Job roles could include Lettings Negotiator, Lettings Manager and other senior roles in the Residential Property Sector.

This qualification will give you the skills to enteral a senior role in Commercial Property Lettings and Property Management.

Entry Requirements


Ideally you will have completed the Level 2 Certificate in Property (Residential Property Letting and Management) or have previous experience in a sales/customer orientated environment.

Apprentices must complete or have completed a minimum Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications in English and Mathematics in order to successfully complete their Apprenticeship. Functional skills tuition is also delivered through Profound Services.

The work roles in this pathway have varying levels of ICT requirements and the generic ICT Functional Skills are too broad to accommodate this. The necessary ICT skills have been embedded in the relevant units of competence. Training will be given to apprentices to use in-house software systems.

You need to have been a resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the past 3 years and should be at least 16 years old.
