International Women’s Day 2017

Today is International Women’s Day which aims to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the globe.

Each year has a different theme, and this year the theme is ‘#BeBoldForChange’ which asks women and men to take a courageous responsibility on forging a more gender inclusive working world.

Organisations, businesses and individuals around the world use this day to commit to helping women and girls achieve their ambitions, challenge bias, create flexible working cultures, call for gender-balanced leadership, and value women and men’s contributions equally.

Campaigners aim to raise awareness through events, social media campaigns, video campaigns, demonstrations and many other activities that all receive phenomenal support.

The hashtag #InternationalWomensDay has been trending on Twitter for the whole awareness day.
