Help us Harvest

Project ‘Help Us Harvest’ is in celebration of Harvest Festival, traditionally held on the beginning of Autumn equinox. In the past, school children were given time off school to help their local farm by harvesting crops, then families and friends would celebrate together with a feast using the food grown on their land.

In more recent years, the festival has become about sharing with those less fortunate than ourselves or raising money for charity.

The local community needs our help. Throughout September and October, we’ll be collecting non-perishable foods which we can donate to our local food banks.

Examples of the types of food we’re looking for:

  • Milk (UHT or powdered)
  • Cereals
  • Sugar (500g)
  • Fish (tinned)
  • Tea Bags/Instant Coffee
  • Meat (tinned)
  • Fruit Juice (not refrigerated)
  • Pasta Sauces
  • Vegetables (tinned)
  • Rice/Sponge Pudding (tinned)
  • Instant Mash/Rice/Noodles
  • Fruit (tinned)
  • Soup (tinned)
  • Beans/Spaghetti

Be part of the celebration and help us harvest some donations for our local food bank. Just one tin of food can make a huge difference in someone's life! If you have anything you can donate, please get in touch with us on 0191 587 4570 to arrange a collection or visit us with your foods at 9 Fern Court, SR8 2RR.
