Ellie is off to a flying start

Ellie-Mae Flint has achieved a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business and Administration and secured a six-month contract with Sotech Optima!

Beginning her career working as a level 2 apprentice, Ellie has worked her way up and has secured a six-month contract working as a full-time employee with Sotech.

Ellie initially went to sixth form and after a year of studying English Language, Geography Criminology and gaining her A/S levels, she decided continuing with college wasn’t the route to go down.

After coming across apprenticeships, Ellie enjoyed the experience aspect of the programme and wanted to gain more practical experience rather than completing theory-based assignments like she would at college.

Ellie commented: “I enjoy learning while working. It’s more interactive, you can get more involved in tasks and you feel like a member of staff.

I’ve also been able to save up for driving lessons and get a car. It would have been a while before I could get a car if I weren't doing the apprenticeship.

I then received my contact which was rewarding knowing that 18 months of hard work has paid off.”

Ellie’s Training Advisor Wendy Matthews commented: “Ellie did a fantastic job learning new skills within the organisation and also increasing her knowledge and understanding at a high level.   Ellie’s confidence also increased significantly during her apprenticeship from being very unsure of verbally answering questions to being videoed giving a demonstration on how to use Sage software.”
