Ellen's traineeship success

Traineeships are a fantastic option if you’re looking to gain experience, skills, and qualifications that are needed to move into an apprenticeship or job.

One of our recent achievers is Ellen Tully, who has completed her traineeship and successfully moved into an apprenticeship role!

After applying for apprenticeships, things weren’t progressing the way Ellen had hoped. She decided to come to Profound and explained to us that she's interested in working in an Administration/Office role but didn't think she had the confidence to move forward.

We told her about the traineeship programme, and how we’ve worked with other trainees in the past who wanted to boost their confidence to better their chances of moving into an apprenticeship role. Ellen commented, “I was excited when I found out about the traineeship programme, I wanted to gain experience in an office, so I decided to go for the apprenticeship and see what it’s all about.”

Ellen enrolled onto the traineeship programme for ten weeks, where trainees work on gaining English and maths qualifications, take part in fun career development sessions, and complete a work experience placement in a sector of their choice.

After ten weeks of focusing on achieving everything the traineeship had to offer, Ellen applied for an apprenticeship and became successful for a role working as an MIS Apprentice!

We asked Ellen what piece of advice she’d give to a young person who’s thinking about starting an apprenticeship. She responded: “Take a traineeship! It’s getting yourself halfway to having your first job, and it’s the best thing I ever did. You can gain the experience you need to be in the work sector of your choice.”

If you want to become an apprentice but need that extra support in gaining skills and experience, apply for a traineeship
