Congratulations to Louise O’Hare who has completed her level 3 apprenticeship in Business and Administration!
A business and administration apprenticeship is excellent if you’re looking to start your first job that could open a world of career possibilities such as Human Resources, Finance, Marketing and much more; just like Louise has proved.
After she began her career working as a Sales apprentice, Louise decided to move into our Finance Department and enrol onto a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business and Administration. After 18 months of studying and demonstrating her capability for the role, Louise got promoted to 'Finance Officer'!
We asked Louise a few questions about her experience as an apprentice, and here’s what she had to say:
Why did you decide to continue studying apprenticeships over going to university or not studying at all?
After completing my first year at sixth form I decided that it wasn’t the right choice for me, I wasn’t interested in going to uni like some of my friends… I just wanted to start working and earning straight away.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learnt during your apprenticeship career?
That you should never just follow the crowd. If your friends are going to uni then you shouldn’t feel pressured to join them if you don’t want to, as there are loads of other opportunities out there.
What is your biggest achievement throughout your apprenticeship career?
My biggest achievement throughout my career has been the promotion I have received upon completing my apprenticeship. Hard work pays off!
What kind of impact do you think being an apprentice has had on your career?
Being an apprentice has helped me to transition from college to work easily, and has given me the skills I needed to progress further in my role.
Would you recommend an apprenticeship route over going to university?
I would definitely recommend apprenticeships to young people if they are unsure of what they want to do when they are older - like I was - and want to gain some experience while they learn.
