After 9 years of working with Profound Services, and lots of hard work and studying, our fantastic Carrie Robinson is moving on to her dream career as a Primary School Teacher.
Carrie joined Profound Services in 2009 working as a Business Administration Apprentice alongside one of our Internal Verifiers to carry out administration duties. Afterwards, Carrie became a part of the company’s first administration team whilst completing her Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business and Administration.
Fast forward 4 years, Carrie was offered the role to become a Training Advisor by Profound while she completed various teaching qualifications funded by Profound to deliver NVQs including Customer Service to Passenger Transport Assistants! Carrie became a mentor for new members of teaching staff and supported colleagues in whatever they needed, including help with paperwork, assessing techniques, providing resource ideas and supporting them in their development as a Training Advisor.
Profound continued to grow with the changes in Apprenticeships from Frameworks to Standards and formed a Curriculum Team opening up a position for a Curriculum Officer which Carrie applied for and accepted. Since, Carrie has been working alongside the team to develop new standards, frameworks and other classroom qualifications which included research, building presentations, learning resources, activities and assessment materials and providing the Training Advisor with a suite of resources for their delivery.
All this experience has allowed Carrie to start working in her dream career as a teacher. Carrie commented: “It has always been something I’ve wanted to do. I wanted to help others and make them realise that they can achieve what they want to achieve.
When learners achieved what they didn’t believe they could, the joy, happiness and surge in confidence they felt afterwards was amazing to see.”
This, however, hasn’t been a short road to travel along, as Carrie originally left school to study at Sixth-Form and realised that it wasn’t right for her. She started her Business Administration Apprenticeship after a year at Sixth Form and forgot about the prospect of being a teacher until being presented with opportunities with Profound. After gaining experience in teaching roles, Carrie was able to progress onto study a degree in university and after two years, achieved a First-Class Honours Degree in Education Studies!
Carrie was then able to find herself a place on a very limited programme called the School Direct Salaried Teacher Training, to start this September where she will be working alongside another teacher, with hopes of becoming a qualified primary school teacher by the end of the 18/19 academic year! Carrie commented: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Steven Ward for giving me the opportunity to work at Profound all those years ago. I would also like to thank all those who I have worked with, past and present, who have supported me to develop, progress and to learn.
It has not just been about a job for me, I have had some great experiences and I have met some amazing people. Profound has been a huge part of my life and I feel really sad to be going, but excited for what the future holds.”
