Who The Course Is For

This course is for existing lorry, bus or coach drivers to keep their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) up to date and legal. It is a requirement for all drivers of goods and passenger carrying vehicles to take part in 35 hours of training over a period of 5 years in order to keep a Driver CPC.


What Will You Learn

Course Content

This periodic training course will enhance your skills in the role of a HGV and PSV driver and will improve the quality and standard of driving, customer care and operations. The course will cover the minimum requirements to be met for the initial qualification and the periodic training. This will include the safety rules to be observed when driving and while the vehicle is stopped, the development of defensive driving - anticipating danger, making allowance for other road users, rational fuel consumption, application of regulations, environmental safety, service & logistics.

Learning Methods

Learning will be undertaken in the classroom with a mixture of guided discussions, group activities, question and answer sessions, use of video clips and interactive slides

There is no formal assessment criteria but you must attend

Requirements

You have to have either a PSV or HGV licence and already hold a CPC card
