Who The Course Is For
This course will assist and upskill candidates who would like to peruse employment or further training within the logistics and distribution industry
What Will You Learn
This intermediate qualification will cover all aspects of warehousing and storage principles, including: maintaining health, safety and security in logistics operations, developing effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics operations, keeping equipment in good working order, keeping stock at required levels, handling good manually, picking goods to assemble orders for dispatch, wrapping and packing goods, providing customers with information and advice on goods and services, operating equipment, moving goods in logistics facilities, processing orders for dispatch, principles of lean manufacturing The course will also cover employability skills such as interview techniques and CV writing
Learning will take place in the classroom with guided discussions and group activities. Practical activities will take place in our purpose built warehouse academy.
The course will be assed via a range of methods including essays, observations of practical activities and completing a course portfolio.
Upon completion of the course learners could progress onto a Level 2 Award/Certificate in Forklift Truck Operations, an apprenticeship in Warehousing and Storage or any related Level 3 courses
The course covers a wide range of opportunities in the logistics and distribution employment sector. Job roles could include: Warehouse Operative, Production Operative, Warehouse/Production Team Leader or any other related roles
You need to have been a resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the past 3 years and should be at least 19 years old. You also must be unemployed and actively seeking work. You will be required to pass a Literacy and Numeracy test and Induction before starting the course.
