For those who would like to work in the logistics, warehousing or distribution industry operating a fork lift truck.

What Will You Learn

Course Content

This intermediate qualification will cover all aspects of basic fork lift truck operations including: preparing the fork lift truck for driving and manoeuvring, basic fork lift truck manoeuvres, basic hydraulic operations, basic steering, basic stacking and de-stacking, health and safety in a warehouse environment, covering Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), culminating in a theory test and a practical driving test.

Learning Methods

Learning will take place in the classroom and practical driving course our purpose built Warehouse Academy, with guided discussions, group activities and practical activities.

Assessment Methods

The course will be assessed by a range of methods including theory test, workbook assessment, peer assessment, question and answer, observation and a practical driving test

Progression Opportunities

Upon completion of the course learners could progress onto a Warehousing and Storage Apprenticeship or any related Level 3 qualification.

The course covers a wide range of opportunities in the logistics and distribution employment sector. Entry Requirements


You need to have been a resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the past 3 years and should be at least 19 years old. You also must be unemployed and actively seeking work. You will be required to pass a Literacy and Numeracy test and Induction before starting the course.
