The Role

Reporting to the Group Chief Executive, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing senior and strategic interaction between the Sales and Marketing element for the delivery of the Traineeships, Apprenticeship (standards and frameworks) and Commercial offer.

To provide strategic leadership of business development in order to grow market share in government funded provision and to increase income through full cost and commercial expansion.

To establish the Profound Group as the market leader and the first choice provider in the North East and other locations throughout England for 16-18 and 19+ training through proactive and impactful sales and marketing strategies.

Key Accountabilities

Sales

  • Responsibility for designing the group commercial strategy, along with the successful communication and delivery of the strategy.
  • Responsible and accountable for developing and executing business strategies to deliver growth in accordance with the strategic plans
  • Develop and ensure Group sales/marketing procedures are maintained by sharing best practice and continual improvement to protect company's sales position, including measurement tools to forecast success alongside the Heads of Dept.
  • Formulation and implementation of interventions to deliver sustained performance in terms of securing tenders and new business opportunities.
  • To guide and direct sales/marketing activity across the Profound Group to maximise the potential of the Group’s products and services, to support delivery against KPI’s and targets.
  • Direct and in-direct management of sales/marketing activity via the group and through business units.
  • The management of the Business Development Team which has the responsibility of coordinating Profound Group offer to a group of key accounts in the FE/commercial sector.
  • Responsibility for new business development, negotiations and commercial contracts in line with proposed budgeted growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging business opportunities with a view to positioning the Group’s sales resource and technical capability accordingly.
  • Review reports on the status of contracts indicating current status with regards to financial situation and provide guidance and recommendations for improvements, working closely with the CEO and Head of Dept. to assess against budget.

Marketing

  • The management of the marketing team, which provides a marketing service for the group.
  • Management of the websites and web content of the Profound Group
  • Provide leadership and instill best working practice within the Marketing team helping to establish a leading service.
  • Providing support to the Senior Web System Developer, to ensure the FE/Commercial functions’ strategy is embedded within Marketing.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop Marketing plans and tactics to achieve company goals
  • Management and development of an effective CRM supported throughout the organisation

Key Performance Indicators

  • Projected budget revenue targets are met
  • Budgeted new business is grown in line with the budget
  • Agreed Sales and Marketing staff KPI’s are met

Essential Attributes

  • Experience of working with large multi-site and multi-national companies to deliver skills solutions, contributing to budget delivery and growing the business in line with projected growth.
  • Extensive experience in FE/Commercial roles with relevant industry knowledge.
  • Experience of leading a Sales/Marketing team, with proven results of successfully results.
  • Experience of using performance management frameworks to achieve outstanding results
  • Experience of effective contract management
  • Experience of using complex data sets to support achievement of KPIs
  • Experience in producing reports
  • Experience of post 16 funding and audit requirements
  • Experience of delivering against a range of different delivery models
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral within the context of a training environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and get the best out of a team, proven with experience
  • Proven successful track record in Sales/Marketing, with an understanding of the strategic approach to short/long term objectives
  • Ability to prioritise and manage projects to tight timescales
  • Sound knowledge of the Ofsted Common Inspection Framework
  • Sound understanding of the landscape locally and nationally in relation to Education and Training
  • Strong business development and organisation skills
  • A solution focused approach to team and stakeholder problems, who can lead by example

The role requires a certain amount of travel locally and nationally

Based in Peterlee with extensive travel throughout the UK

An opportunity to join a fast-developing experienced National training provider (Good Ofsted) to support the teaching/assessing of the LGV Apprenticeships, providing coaching to new or existing drivers through an apprenticeship pathway. You will need significant occupational experience, assessing apprentices whilst ‘On the Job’ driving, providing training, feedback and mentoring.  It would be advantageous if you have a category C+E driving license along with significant experience of driving large goods vehicles?

You will be responsible for the coaching and development of LGV driver apprentices through the Apprenticeship Standards.  

You will work alongside the employer to develop a plan regarding around delivery of on-programme and end-point assessments for the apprentices.

Essentially, the candidate shall have A1 and have experience in training and assessing Apprenticeships UP TO LEVEL 3.  You will have a passion about education, are highly motivated, enthusiastic and have a commitment to learner achievement and success.
