Essentially, the candidate shall have A1 and have experience in training and assessing Apprenticeships UP TO LEVEL 5.

Duties Include: -

  • Carry out initial and diagnostic assessments including Functional Skills
  • Deliver induction/training
  • Meet external standards for any course delivery
  • Ensure all documentation meets funding body standards and compliance
  • Assess and sign off candidate portfolios
  • Provide Information, Advice and Guidance to allow candidates to progress

  • Salary = Circa £22,495 for a full caseload*
  • Hours = 37.5 Per week for a full caseload
  • Caseload = A full caseload would be up to 37 apprenticeships.
  • Mileage = 40p per mile

Based in Peterlee, Durham Profound Group (Incorporating Profound Services Ltd, Northern Care Training Ltd and Protech City Ltd.) is a rapidly growing training provider, delivering quality training on a local and national basis. 

Working closely with many government bodies, Profound Group works in direct response to key components within the Government’s and Skills Funding Agency’s training agenda.

 

The role

The Finance Manager will oversee the running of the finance department.  Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer the successful candidate will be required to work on their own initiative in a role that requires a degree of flexibility to oversee the smooth running of the department whilst ensuring the accuracy of financial data that will be presented at board meetings.

You will have overall responsibility for the management of the Finance team however direct line management responsibilities will only be to the Finance & Resourcing Co-ordinator who in turn shall manage the rest of the team.

 

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Prepare financial management reports
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities
  • Develop and maintain financial databases
  • Prepare for financial audit and coordinate the audit process
  • Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
  • Evaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues
  • Collect and analyse financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data

 

 

About you

 

Essential Qualifications

Accounting Degree or equivalent.

 

Essential Experience and Attributes

  • At least 3 years’ experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles
  • Knowledge of economic principles
  • Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting computer applications
  • Experience of presenting to senior management and board level

 

Desirable experience and Attributes

  • Sectoral experience
  • People Management skills

This is an Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship role in which you will be predominately office based.

You will be contacting candidates, employers, business partners and other stake holders to engage and match potential apprentices to current apprenticeship vacancies.

Main Functions:

  • Manage a caseload of young people with a view to finding them suitable apprenticeships.
  • Promote apprenticeship vacancies and match them to candidates.
  • Conduct assessments and screening to assess candidate’s suitability for apprenticeships.
  • Complete company documentation ensuring that all documents meet compliance standards.
  • Maintain the candidate recruitment database and CRM including the management of NAS and other online advertising and updating the vacancy management system.
  • Engagement with schools, teachers and young people to market and promote apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Attend networking events and exhibitions to engage with young people.
  • Sourcing new learners by cold calling, networking and building relationships.

Other Duties:

  • Represent and promote the Group at external events and meetings
  • Attend internal and external meetings and events as required
  • Liaise with colleagues as appropriate to ensure services are delivery according to service levels agreed with clients
  • Liaise with colleagues as appropriate to ensure the development of new products and services.

  • Achievement of a Level 2 Apprenticeship or equivalent

Apprenticeship Assessors – Supporting Teaching and Learning (STL) Essentially, the candidate shall have A1 and have experience in training and assessing Apprenticeships UP TO LEVEL 3.  You will have a passion about education, are highly motivated, enthusiastic and have a commitment to learner achievement and success.

Duties Include: -

  • Ensure all documentation meets funding body standards and compliance
  • Assess and sign off candidate portfolios

  • A minimum of a level 3 qualification in subject area
  • Teaching qualification
